Worth every page

A genuinely enjoyable read that also taught me a great deal.

I have been working with web graphics for a few years now and I still found plenty here that was new to me. It is denser than the page count suggests, and I found myself slowing down around the middle. The writing is direct and does not waste space on filler, which I value in a technical book. The index and cross-references are surprisingly good, which matters for a book I will come back to. An easy five stars from me. I look forward to whatever the author writes next.

Exactly what I was looking for

Better than I expected. Rare to find a technical book this well judged.

I bought this on a whim after seeing it mentioned in a forum thread, and I am glad I did. The chapters on web graphics are the strongest — the examples are stripped down but complete, and I could follow along without constant guessing. The author avoids over-explaining, which keeps the pace up but means you need to pay attention. An easy five stars from me. I look forward to whatever the author writes next.

Good, but not for absolute beginners

Good value. Not perfect, but I would buy another book from this author.

I have been working with web graphics for a few years now and I still found plenty here that was new to me. I found myself making notes in the margins, which is always a good sign. The author avoids over-explaining, which keeps the pace up but means you need to pay attention. A good addition to a technical library, as long as you know what you are buying.
